This is my first post for 2013..and also my first english post  for my blog (subhanAllah Alhamdulillah) Sorry for bad grammar and any typo err >.<.  InshaaAllah. today I'll share about the thing that we did alot eventhough it was forbidden/ prohibited in Islam.

Slander and backbite are two things that lead us to destruction. Either to the victim or the perpetrator. there  are many stories in the Quran , admonishes and clarify consequences of slander and backbiting.

Slander is the spoken or transitory form of defamation of character, a legal term that refers to a falsehood presented as true which could harm the reputation of a person or entity.  Slander can cause a lot of bad effect in our religion, for example the disunity of umat and loss trust between  one another. As mention in 

Surah Al-Baqarah in the verses no. 191 “…Fitnah is worse than killing..”.

In other surah in Al-Quran also remind us about the slander and backbiting, in Surah Al-Hujurat verse no.12  Allah said:

  “O you believe! Avoid much suspicions, indeed some suspicionsare sins. And spy not, neither backbite one another. Would one of you like to eat the flesh of his dead brother? You would hate it (so hate backbiting). And fear Allah. Verily , Allah is the One Who accepts repentance, Most Merciful.”

There are many different opinions on the issue of defamation which is referred to in the Holy Quran. The word "slander" itself brings a different meaning in its use in the Qur'an ,when we translated . However, all of the "slander" is meant , brought large adverse effect on mankind.

Prophet Muhammad (صلّى الله عليه وآله وسلّم) once asked: "Do you know what backbiting is?" His companions  replied: "Allah and His Messenger know best." He  then said: "It is to say something about your brother that he would dislike." Someone asked: "But what if what is said is true?" The Messenger of Allah  replied: "If what you say about him is true, then you have backbitten him, but if it is not true then you have slandered him." [HRMuslim]

Islam is a religion of peace, love and compassion. Lies, suspicion, backbiting, slander and gossip are totally alien to Islam and absolutely contradict to a Muslim character. In fact, they are considered amongst the most destructive of major sins. This is so because these sins sow enmity and discord among the Muslim Ummah (nation) and lead to its destruction. They cause hostilities between people of the same household, and between neighbours, friends and relatives. Please Ummah, to become unite is our aim. And this is one of the factor of disunite for nowadays.

 "Let's CHANGE for the sake of Ummah and for the sake of Allah!"
